How self-custody works in cxcash.app

Custodial vs non-custodial wallets

A custodial service holds keys for you. cxcash.app is non-custodial: only your device holds the keys that control your funds.

Where your keys are kept

Your recovery phrase derives keys in the browser. The vault is encrypted with AES-GCM using a key derived from your wallet password (scrypt) and stored in IndexedDB (with localStorage fallback).

Your recovery phrase

New wallets use a BIP-39 mnemonic (12 or 24 English words). Nobody at cxcash.app can reset or recover it for you.

What we can and cannot see

We do not receive your seed, private keys, or password. Public addresses and transactions you broadcast are visible on blockchains and to RPC providers you use.

CXCASH on Aztec: shielding and limits

CXCASH balances and transfers are shielded on Aztec mainnet; total supply and the basket price remain public. Shielding reduces public linkage but does not guarantee anonymity: network metadata, devices and anything shared off-chain can still reveal information. Gasless sends use the contract fee sponsor subject to fair-use limits; you always see the CXCASH transfer fee before confirming. Read how to send CXCASH and private stablecoin wallet.

Contract pause scope (CXCASH)

The CxCashV2 emergency pause covers minting and price updates only. Transfers cannot be paused, and the contract has no upgrade function. Issuer minting is capped with a public mint log on CoinExchange.cash.

Risks you still carry

Lost devices, phishing sites, malicious dapps, wrong-network sends, and clearing browser storage can all lead to loss of access or funds. Clearing site data removes the local vault unless you still have your phrase.

Checking a WalletConnect request

Read the site name, requested chains, and each signing prompt before you approve.
